Pottsville, PA - 16th Annual The 2008 Great Pottsville Cruise! This year's features: a 10.4-mile Cruise Route, reduced hold-ups, more cool-down area. Cruise will stage at Martz Hall beginning at 1:00 p.m.--Cars in the upper lot, trucks in the lower lot, and antiques in the designated Antique Division area. Judging will be done throughout the afternoon at Martz Hall. The Antique Division will begin cruising at 4:00 p.m., followed by the Main Cruise at 5:00 p.m.
The Cruise Route (a 10.4 mile circle):
(Upper lot): Leave Martz Hall at 16th St, turn left on Maple Avenue, towards Mar Lin. Turn left on Westwood Road to Market Street. Turn left on Market Street to Centre Street. Turn left on Centre Street to Laurel Blvd. Turn left on Laurel Blvd return to Maple Avenue and continue. (Lower lot): Same route in reverse. Leave Martz Hall on Laurel Blvd to Centre Street. Right on Centre Street to Market Street. Right on Market Street to Westwood Road. Right on Westwood Road to Maple Avenue. Right on Maple Avenue return to Laurel Blvd. and continue. Over 100 Trophies and Awards will be given out. To celebrate the 11th Anniversary of the Cruise, a commemorative dash plaque will be given to the first 1000 registrants of the Cruise. Clearfield, PA - Sunday - 32nd Annual Central Mountains Region Antique and Custom Auto Show, at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds the Clearfield Driving Park held rain or shine. Open to pre-1992 Vehicles will be parked in classes, with the owners doing the judging. Three trophies are to be awarded per class, plus these special awards will be presented: Oldest Vehicle, Mayor's Trophy, President's Trophy, People's Choice Award and the A.J. Ross Sr. Memorial Post-War Vehicle Award. Many types of vehicles will be welcome at the show, including antique, classic and custom cars and antique trucks. A class has been set up for all motorcycles, and there is one for two-seater sports cars this year. A working fire extinguisher is required in each vehicle. Show hosted by the Central Mountains Region members' cars will not be judged, and are ineligible to win trophies. Registration 9:00 am - 12:00 noon, trophies at 4:00 pm. Dash plaques to the First 150 vehicles, registration $5.00, free car corral area available, free admission and parking for spectators. Food vendors will also be present.
