Jun 5 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Rain Date: Monday June 12, 2017  4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Chris Corwin was an outstanding Minisink Valley Middle School Technology teacher whose life ended tragically in a car accident a year ago.  There will be best of show awards as voted on by the owners of registered vehicles and spectators. There is no fee for vehicle registration or spectators, but we will be taking donations at the door for the “Chris Corwin Scholarship Fund” We will have a DJ (Strictly Entertainment), concessions, raffle items, 50/50, and activities to keep any kids busy as well.

A scholarship has been set up in his name and we are hosting this car show to help raise funds for the scholarship.  It is very important to establish a yearly community event to remember Chris.    Last year for the First Annual Chris Corwin Scholarship Car Show, the community came out in full force!  We had over 250 vehicles and more than 1,000 people attend.  All of this helped to raise over $10,000 for the Scholarship Fund!  We are looking to have the Car Show even larger this year.

FEATURED CARS:

1968 Firebird Ram Air II Convertible (only 8 produced)

1969 Trans Am Convertible (#8 of 8 produced)

1973 Firebird Formula SD (only 10 produced)

With our first successful GTO judging class, we are offereing it again this year. This is only open to concourse restored and unrestored original GTO’s.  There is a limited amount of tickets available.  We will judge your GTO according to the Pypes Exhaust Standard of Excellence guidelines.

For this class, you must bring your PHS to prove your GTO is a real GTO for the following years…  1964, 1965, 1972, 1973, & 1974.  These years the GTO was an option.  We will not examine the PHS and compare it to the car as it is presented the day of the show either.

The rule of thumb when entering the GTO into this class is you are allowed to have modifications on your GTO, but the more modifications you have, the more points are taken OFF the 350 total.  This is NOT a modified GTO class… it’s for survivors or restored back to factory original (as it was when it rolled off the show room floor).  All safety additions (ie sway bar, radial tires, boxed in rear lower control arms, etc) will not be marked off.  If the control arms were changed to tubular, then they will get marked off.  Examples of points being marked off: adding a hood tach when the GTO did not have it available, or chromed alternator or oil pan, Craiger SS rims, fuzzy dice in the window, tiger tails hanging from your license plate, shag carpet, etc…  Basic rule of thumb is if the GTO drove off the show room floor, the car gets 350 points.  If the car has dirt on the underside of the car, you will get points marked off…

This is an event not to be missed. Proceeds benefit ALS of Philadelphia.
